Rolf Liebermann

Last weekend, the Chimay jury unanimously elected first above all, Lora Dimitrova, a pianist of very high quality, whom I dare to compare to Horowitz because she has the same style; that inner fire when she began to play, that temperament, that impeccable technique, that virtuosity at the service of the music and not a virtuosity to show off technique but technique is really the servant of a musical thought that she had shown during her performance. I have never heard a better performance of Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata and I have to say that her introduction to Bach's Partita in D was absolutely fabulous.
Nicole Henriot
Pianist and Professor in the Paris Conservatoire

Pierre Colombo

Lora leaves a huge impression by the finesse of her playing which brings together a great mastery of technique and a sensitivity of rare quality. The emotion which one feels when listening to her very often reaches an exceptional intensity and I will remember her playing for a very long time.

Lora's playing is staggering - one of those pianists who is not only technically superb but has that rare gift of insight into what she plays.

and finally ... the press/critics ...
Press reviews from the UK and Germany

I have never heard the work (Bartok's 3rd Piano Concerto) so clearly organised, so logical. In the young Bulgarian pianist Lora Dimitrova, currently working in London, Solti had a soloist who not only helped shape the work with virtuoso dexterity and admirable assurance, but also is an excellent chamber music player who was able to respond sensitively and thus achieve a unique unity of sound between piano and orchestra. The motivic development of the 1st movement was clearly characterised, while the truly "religioso" "Adagio" with its chorale-like sounds full of premonitions of death was expressive and contrasted with the natural - and thus life-oriented - "Bird Concerto" of the middle section. Lively dance rhythms play over the forebodings in the lively, energetic and virtuosically vital finale. That was fantastic! Thunderous, long-lasting applause rewarded the unforgettable performance (Sächsische Zeitung)

Lora showed a profoundly committed gifted and musical nature.... colours and resonances (Ravel) were sensually imagined and flawlessly controlled (the Independent)

Lyrical enough (Chopin) to make an audience feel as it if were eavesdroping, yet free and confident enough in its more overt virtuosity to communicate head on (the Times)

She has a quite splendid sense of style and relaxed artistry.... a climax of awesome passion... mastery of shifting tone colours (Musical Opinion)

Amazing insight into these works (Beethoven Waldstein and Bartok's 3rd piano concerto). Her skill and technique are irreproachable. Her Bach tone is simply perfect - everyone should play Bach like this. Her performance takes us to the soul of Schumann (Symphonic Studies) and I know no pianist who ever did this before with this deeply felt score (MusicWeb International - Classical Music on the Web)
